Happy New Year!

We have now entered the year of the Kent Test, which marks an important shift in our practice work. During many of our sessions, we will now be moving away from introductory tasks and moving further towards more representative practice.

​

For the time being, our primary focus will remain firmly on maths, English and vocabulary development, since there are still many essential skills that we still need to strengthen in these areas. In due course, there will be an increased focus on non-verbal and spatial reasoning; however, at this stage, these do not need to form a significant part of any practice completed at home.

As we move through this half-term, I will be contacting the parents of all my pupils to offer an additional group session during the February half-term. The cost of this session is included in your monthly payment plan and I will recommend the most appropriate holiday session for each pupil, based on my observations during term-time sessions and the homework tasks completed.

Looking further ahead, there are mock tests scheduled for the Easter holiday, the May half-term, and the summer holiday. I have two sets of representative mock test papers and recommend that all pupils attend one mock test during either the Easter break or the May half-term, and a second mock test during the summer holiday.

Please note that mock tests are not included in the monthly payment plan, but bookings for these sessions can be made online. If you would like guidance on mock test timing or advice on which feedback option to select, please do not hesitate to ask.​
