Ensure your Year 5 child is fully prepared for the Kent Test, with a representative test experience!
Service Description
Will your son or daughter be taking the Kent Test in September? Enable them to achieve their best by giving them the opportunity to work from practice papers that replicate the format and timings of the Kent Test in a way that most published practice papers do not. The Sunnydene Kent Test Practice Papers have been specifically designed to give children the best possible practice experience, enabling them to feel calm and confident on the day of the Kent Test. Schedule: English Practice Paper Maths Practice Paper Reasoning Practice Paper Assessed Writing Task There will be two short breaks during the session. Snacks will be provided. Details of the 'mock' test package options are given below. Silver: Your son or daughter attends a 'mock' test session for familiarisation of the Kent Test format, question-types, timings and pace. The test will be administered in a way representative of the way the test will be administered at school - for the best possible practice test experience. Following attendance, your son or daughter's test papers will be marked and I will send you brief feedback, including their scores for each assessed area, in relation to my target scores for reaching the threshold for being offered a grammar school place following the Kent Test assessment in September. Gold: The gold package offers everything included in the silver package, along with an in-depth breakdown of the scores achieved in each element of the practice test and feedback on the written piece produced. I will also provide a personalised set of activities for completion at home, to support your child further in the areas where their practice test highlights areas of relative weakness. Platinum: The platinum package provides everything included in the gold package, and a 30-minute feedback phone call so we can discuss your child's test outcomes, test strategies and my suggested next steps for further development. Upon receiving your booking, a member of my team will contact you to schedule your call. Platinum Plus: The platinum plus package offers all of the benefits of the platinum package, with the addition of a individual 'follow-up' 60-minute tuition session for your son or daughter, during which we will look again at their test papers, re-work questions that were answered incorrectly or where more efficient methods could have been used, and discuss improvements that could be made in terms of test strategy. Upcoming Sessions
Cancellation Policy
If sessions are cancelled by a parent, or a pupil does not arrive for their sessions, a refund or reschedule will not be possible. In lieu of any sessions not attended, details of the work missed will be sent by email, so that children can complete the missed work at home instead. Sessions must be paid for, whether a child attends their session or not, since each child’s tuition ‘slot’ is reserved for them for the duration of the school year at the time of booking. ​Tutors on the Sunnydene Teaching Team endeavour to keep their own requests to change booked session times to an absolute minimum, but there may be very rare occasions when there is a need to request that we make an alternative arrangement. As much notice as possible will always be given, with an alternative day or time for a session offered wherever possible. If a tutor is not available for a scheduled session and a suitable alternative day and time cannot be found, a credit will be added to the next term’s invoice.​
