Week beginning 6th November: homework and info about Christmas sessions

Updated: Dec 4, 2023

My focus during this week's sessions will be mixed. We'll be continuing with last week's verbal reasoning 'codes' work, tackling a short writing activity and working on some 'wordy' maths questions with the ever-popular Sunnydene Snack Shop as the basis for our work in this area. I have bought snacks to cater for all the dietary requirements that I've been informed of, but I will be sure to tell the children not to eat their snacks until an adult at home has said that they may.

Homework: As always, I'll be asking for daily reading this week, along with the playing of some games from the Sunnydene Challenge Booklet. A few sections of puzzles from the Sunnydene Puzzle Booklet should be attempted too please. Our writing task is to start a story with a title that I will give during our session. As an optional extension, the children can continue their story and I'll be happy to take a look at any writing that's completed, to give targets for future writing - in line with the expectations of the Kent Test.

I have received several enquiries about my timetable of sessions for the Christmas holiday.

I've now finished my scheduling and sessions are available to book online. To book, please go to the 'book online' link at the top of the homepage of my website and scroll to find the sessions at which you'd like to reserve spaces. Sessions can be added to a basket so multiple sessions can be booked at once, if you wish. There's more information about each type of session before the booking stage - you'll need to look for the 'read more' link once you're selected the type of session you're interested in. If you still need more information then do please send me a quick email as I'll be happy to explain further as necessary.

My timetable for the Christmas holiday is as follows:

1. Term ends on Friday 15th December.

I will provide details of my 'Christmas Holiday Activity Pack' as we near the end of term. This pack contains Christmas-themed activities, designed to offer practice of vital Kent Test skills during the Christmas break, including practice of new types of verbal reasoning question that don't appear on any of the currently available published practice books.
