Welcome to the Summer Holiday!

My term time sessions for Year 5 have now come to an end, and we have just one final term-time group session at the start of Year 6. You paid for this as part of your last invoice, where the date and time were also noted. This session is scheduled for the week preceding the Kent Test and will be at your regular term-time time and on the same day as your Year 5 Kent Test group sessions. The location will be different though - as previously advised.

As a reminder, I have a range of sessions available throughout the summer holiday. I've summarised the details of these below, for your reference. Whether or not you book holiday sessions for the summer, it's absolutely vital that you keep up some level of practice work at home so that the skills that we've worked so hard to develop through the school year aren't lost during the summer holiday. If you won't be booking holiday sessions then please use either my Summer Holiday Practice Pack (for a complete revision pack of daily tasks for the 6 weeks of the summer break) or the practice books that you've been working from for homework (for repeated small chunks of timed practice).

My sessions schedule for the summer holiday consists of the following types of session:

Summer Holiday Working Group Sessions

From 11.30am until 12.30 pm each weekday of the holiday.

Focussed input, with a different assessed area being our focus each day of the week.

Each session will have different content so children can come along to as many or as few of these sessions as you wish.

Weekly schedule

Mondays: English

Tuesdays: Maths

Wednesdays: English and Verbal Reasoning

Thursdays: Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning

Fridays: Verbal, Non-Verbal and Spatial Reasoning

Kent Test Story Writing Workshop

The writing task of the Kent Test is only looked at in cases of headteacher appeal but (because we never know what's going to happen on the day of the test) it's vital for the children to know how to produce a superb piece of writing so that this can be used positively as part of an appeal case, if the need arises.

A 90-minute session on Mondays throughout the summer holiday, from 1pm - 2.30pm.

Each session has the same content, so please only book once.

Kent Test Board Game Sessions (STIQ)

Fast-paced Kent Test questions, in a fun and engaging board game format.

Check the schedule on my booking calendar for timings.

Kent Test 'Mock' Sessions

The Sunnydene Kent Test Practice Papers have been specifically designed to give children the best possible practice experience, enabling them to feel calm and confident on the day of the Kent Test.

Schedule:

English Practice Paper

Maths Practice Paper

Reasoning Practice Paper

Assessed Writing Task

These are 4-hour sessions, with the test administered in the way it will be administered in school.

The is the 'final piece of the puzzle' in helping the children understand what to expect on the day of their test at school.

I have a range of feedback options available, with prices starting from £60.

Individual Kent Test Sessions

If there's something specific that you'd like me to focus on with your son or daughter, an individual session is the best option. I'll tailor the session content to suit the needs of the child attending or, if you have a focus in mind, send a quick email to let me know and I'll plan the session accordingly.

I hope you have a lovely summer and I look forward to seeing everyone again soon.
