Welcome back for term 6!

Registration for the Kent Test opens today:

Please register now - before you forget!

If you haven’t yet booked your summer sessions, please do so soon as spaces are filling fast. I recommend that all of my pupils take a mock test for experience of how the test will ‘play out’ on the day, alongside a sensible schedule of sessions during the long summer break. I have a range of feedback options available and you’ll find all of the details on the booking system of my website. If you’d like some guidance about how to structure your child’s summer practice schedule then do get in touch - I’m keen to ensure that everyone returns to school feeling suitably refreshed after a lovely summer break but with all their hard-earned skills intact too.

This week we’ll be focussing on English - with a focus on grammar and punctuation, in preparation for two of the parts of the English paper that aren’t comprehension-based.

Homework this term continues to be one task from each of your practice books each week (as a minimum) using the time limits indicated at the start of each of the tasks. Re-working your child’s incorrect answers is a vital part of their skills development, so do please mark their work and look with them at their mistakes.

This Saturday (8th June) I’ll be hosting my final Zoom Q&A session for this year’s Kent Test. If you have any remaining questions then do please join me for part or all of the session. I’ll be online from 9.30 until 11am - please use the link below to join the Zoom meeting:

If you follow me on Facebook, you’ll see an update post tomorrow (Tuesday 4th June) in which I'll be sharing some news that I think is pretty exciting. This won’t affect you, unless your son or daughter works with me (or one of my team) beyond the end of their Kent Test preparation, but just so you know… when I resume my sessions mid-September 2024, after the 2024 Kent Test, I’ll be based at 5 Jubilee Way, Faversham. There’s been lots going on behind the scenes for the last year and during the May half-term break, my husband and I completed on the purchase of a new building that will be used as a tuition centre, and had our planning application for change of use approved too. This means that all of the tutors on my team will be able to teach from a central location going forwards, which opens up opportunities for group sessions for other year groups, alongside the individual sessions that my team can already offer. Do keep an eye on my Facebook page to find out what will be available for the new school year and beyond, if you think there’s a chance that you’ll be interested in additional sessions in the future. If you could share my post too, to ‘spread the word’ about what will be the new home of Sunnydene Tutoring, that would be very much appreciated. 😊
